Later, with projects like Banda Spinetta, Spinetta Jade, and Los Socios del Desierto, he delved into jazz rock, and in his solo works, he dared to fuse jazz, pop, and electronic music, as heard in Téster de violencia (1988) or Don Lucero (1989).Spinetta’s approach to composition was deep and personal. His lyrics, rich with literary and philosophical references to authors like Antonin Artaud or Arthur Rimbaud, intertwined with complex melodies and intricate instrumental arrangements. He wasn’t just after catchy songs; he aimed to create atmospheres and explore the depth of musical and poetic language.

Biography

This relentless pursuit led him to release a vast amount of original material, totaling 376 songs throughout his career. His impact was so profound that the Argentine government designated January 23, his birth date, as the 'National Musician’s Day'.In the late 2000s, Spinetta continued releasing works, culminating in his final album, Un mañana, in 2008. The following year, in 2009, he celebrated four decades of his career with a marathon concert titled Spinetta y las Bandas Eternas, lasting over five hours in front of a massive crowd at the José Amalfitani Stadium. His musical legacy, spanning from his early rehearsals in his Buenos Aires home to his final creations, continues to resonate.

He passed away in 2012, leaving an indelible mark on music.
