The story behind
Luis Alberto Spinetta wrote Lejísimo for the album Téster de violencia, released in 1988. The song was recorded earlier, in 1987, during a tour at the Astral Theater in Buenos Aires. The band included Carlos Alberto "Machi" Rufino on bass, Juan Carlos "Mono" Fontana on keyboards, Guillermo Arrom on guitar and Jota Morelli on drums. Spinetta played guitar, vocals and programming.
The lyrics talk about a distant sky, as a symbol of something one wants to reach, but without religion or guarantees. It is part of an album that deals with violence from within, not just as something bad, but as part of life. The song is called Lejísimo because it evokes a desire to escape, to fly, but without reaching any defined place.
