The story behind
Luis Alberto Spinetta wrote Al ver verás in 1987, a song that appeared on his album Téster de violencia from 1988. The lyrics are built as an invitation to see something that can only be understood at a specific moment. The song begins with a phrase that seems like a challenge: “come and see me at the moment you will see,” and develops as a sort of meeting at dawn, where time stops and the wounds fade away.
The song was recorded with a group of musicians who accompanied Spinetta during that period. Among them was Mono Fontana, who played keyboards and became a key collaborator on the album. The lyrics are written in the second person, as if the singer were speaking directly to someone, describing a place that evokes nostalgia and loss. The song does not limit itself to the emotional, but also addresses violence as something that is lived in the body, something that cannot be ignored.
