Casas marcadas closes Kamikaze with an unforgettable ending: the track fades out amid radio interference and electronic hums, as if the record resists coming to an end. It’s not a conventional closure, but a sound collage that breaks the album’s atmosphere. The contrast is stark: while the rest of Kamikaze explores acoustic and bucolic textures, this track —the longest on the album— drowns in noise, as if Spinetta wanted to make clear that music doesn’t always fit the limits we impose on it.The song was recorded in 1982 alongside the rest of the album, with Luis Alberto Spinetta on vocals and Diego Rapoport on keyboards. What makes it stand out isn’t just its length (5:52), but the raw melancholy in the lyrics, where the "casas marcadas" seem to allude to something beyond physical walls. The title resurfaced the following year in Bajo Belgrano, this time sung by Spinetta Jade, but in Kamikaze it carries a different weight, reinforced by that experimental ending that defies expectations. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it 24th among the 100 best Argentine rock albums, but what truly matters is how that chaotic finale rounds out a work that refuses to settle for the ordinary.
