Incubus is a band that has managed to blend the energy of alternative rock with elements of funk and a spirituality characteristic of their native California. Formed in 1991 in Calabasas, their original members—Brandon Boyd (vocals and percussion), Mike Einziger (guitar), Alex Katunich (bass), and José Pasillas (drums)—began their journey playing in small clubs and parties. From the start, their sound stood out for its mix of influences, ranging from funk to metal, allowing them to create a unique proposition in the musical landscape of the 1990s.

Their first album, Fungus Amongus (1995), captured that youthful and chaotic energy, but the real turning point came with S.C.I.E.N.C.E. (1997). This record, filled with experimentation, combined metal, jazz, and electronic elements, earning them a cult reputation. However, it was with Make Yourself (1999) that Incubus achieved massive success, thanks to singles like "Drive" and "Pardon Me." This album represented a balance between introspection and sonic power, allowing them to enter the mainstream without losing their essence.

Throughout their career, Incubus has continued to evolve. With Morning View (2001), recorded in a house facing the ocean in Malibu, they achieved a warm and expansive sound that resonated deeply with their audience. The album A Crow Left of the Murder... (2004) marked a new stage of progressive ambition, while Light Grenades (2006) solidified their status as a stadium band. After a period of breaks and side projects, they released If Not Now, When? (2011), a more atmospheric and minimalist work.

Incubus has managed to stay relevant in an ever-changing musical landscape, constantly exploring new directions.
