In New Zealand, it not only reached fifth place on the RIANZ Singles Chart but also closed out the year 2002 as the country's eighth most successful song, earning a platinum certification for exceeding 30,000 units sold and streamed. The album version's duration is 4:24, while the radio edit is shortened to 3:25. The album Morning View, from which Are You In? is taken, was released on October 23, 2001. This record marked a departure from the nu metal sound, exploring a wide range of styles from soft rock to more intense, all within the framework of alternative rock. To record Morning View, the members of Incubus set up in Malibu, California. This album was the last to feature bassist Alex Katunich, who left the band in 2003.
