The story behind
Incubus released Stellar in June 2000, as the second single from their album Make Yourself. The song was recorded at the NRG studio in Los Angeles and lasts three minutes and twenty seconds. In the video, the band plays in a place that seems like another universe, with lights and shapes floating in the air. A girl, who at that time was Brandon Boyd's girlfriend, travels to space to meet him. During the chorus, the guys play in front of a white screen with lines and graphics that spin around. The song reached number two on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks and also charted in the top 17 on the mainstream rock chart and in the top 7 on Bubbling Under Hot 100.
