The Who

The essence of The Who was forged in London in 1964, with a sound proposal that quickly left a distinctive mark on rock. Their classic lineup, with Roger Daltrey on vocals, Pete Townshend on guitar, John Entwistle on bass, and Keith Moon on drums, explored new frontiers in the genre. They were pioneers in the use of Marshall amplification systems and large sound systems, as well as integrating synthesizers into their music. Entwistle's bass style and Moon's drumming set a standard, while Townshend contributed distinctive techniques.
