The story behind
The Who recorded I’m a Man in 1965, as part of their first album. The song lasts three and a half minutes, and sounds like an explosion of energy. The singer's voice screams as if he were on the verge of collapse, and the guitar moves as if it were a wild animal. It is not a soft song, nor is it one that invites you to think. It is more like an explosion of noise and emotion, as if the band had decided that rock wasn't enough and that they needed more. The lyrics don't lend themselves to much interpretation, but the way they are played makes it unique. It is a song that is lived, not analyzed. ↓ Skip to chordsE|---------------|-------|
