Out in the Street

Tonalidad F major Dificultad Intermedio
The Who wrote a song called Out in the Street that was included in the album The River, released in October 1980. They recorded it at the Power Station studio in New York between March and May of that year, as one of the last songs on the album. Bruce Springsteen wrote it thinking of leaving it out of the album because it was very idealistic, but in the end, he included it. The song blends a work theme and a sense of freedom, like when the protagonist leaves the office and walks down the street. It has an echo piano that sounds as if it were in a very open place, and a saxophone that is placed in the air. At the end, the voices intertwine, and at one moment, Springsteen stays silent, leaving only Steven Van Zandt singing the part of "meet me out in the street," as if he were urgently asking for something. Max Weinberg had problems with the rhythm during the recording, so he went to classes with a drummer named Sonny Igoe. The song is often played live, especially in the Reunion Tour, where the audience also participates. ↓ Skip to chords
