Este fuerte viento que sopla

The album Este fuerte viento que sopla, released in 2002, marked a turning point for No Te Va Gustar. The band delved into a sonic exploration that encompassed genres such as ska, rock, reggae, and murga, shaping a distinctive sound that would resonate throughout their career. Most of the compositions originated from the pen of Emiliano Brancciari, with contributions from Mateo Moreno, who also added his voice to the backing vocals. The main recording and mixing took place in Santiago de Chile under the supervision of Mariano Pavéz during March 2002, with the exception of the track Clara, recorded in Montevideo in April of the same year by Álvaro Reyes. The mastering, also carried out in Santiago by Joaquín García and Mariano Pavéz, completed the technical process. The album was officially presented on October 12, 2002, at the Teatro de Verano, kicking off an extensive tour throughout the country.

About the album

Este fuerte viento que sopla, according to DoReSol

Among the fourteen songs that make up Este fuerte viento que sopla, tracks like Tenés que saltar and Machete stand out for their energy and the fusion of styles that defined the album's proposal. The participation of a murga choir, made up of musicians such as Darío Prieto, Fernando Paleo, Javier Stella, Diego Martínez, Emiliano Muñoz, Ney Peraza, Pedro Takorián, Rafael Bruzzone, and Álvaro Fontes, added a layer of complexity and color to several of the tracks. Just six months after its release, the album achieved gold record certification in Uruguay, an accomplishment that consolidated No Te Va Gustar as one of the most relevant Uruguayan rock bands of the moment.
