Circo Beat

When Fito Páez released Circo Beat in 1994, he already had a solid career, but this work stands as his eighth studio album. The production was handled by Phil Manzanera, known for his work with Roxy Music and in later stages of Pink Floyd. The album is distinguished by having two singles that resonated strongly on the radio: "Mariposa tecknicolor" and "Tema de Piluso". The latter, in particular, was a heartfelt tribute to the remembered comedian Alberto Olmedo. Although it did not reach the stratospheric figures of his previous album, El amor después del amor, Circo Beat became the second best-selling album of Fito Páez's career and had an excellent reception in Argentina, positioning itself as the third best-selling album in the country in 1995.

About the album

Circo Beat, according to DoReSol

A particularity of Circo Beat is that it had a special edition for the Brazilian market, titled Circo Beat Brasil. This version included three songs adapted into Portuguese, with notable collaborations. "Mariposa tecknicolor" featured the participation of Caetano Veloso, "She's Mine" was enriched by the voice of Djavan, and "Nas luzes de Rosario", an adaptation of "Tema de Piluso", had Herbert Vianna from Paralamas. The Portuguese adaptations were carried out by Herbert Vianna and Thedy Correa. All the tracks on the album were written, composed, and arranged by Fito Páez.

The album, which contains thirteen tracks, includes pieces such as "Circo Beat", "Normal 1", "Si Disney despertase", and "Nada del mundo real", among others. Despite not being the best-selling album of his career, Circo Beat consolidated Fito Páez's presence on the music scene and demonstrated his ability to continue creating significant works, exploring different sounds and collaborations.
