When you immerse yourself in the music of Fito Páez, there are details that invite you to pay attention. In the case of Dejarlas partir, its duration is just over three minutes, a format that allows emotion to be concentrated. This track is part of Circo Beat, the eighth studio album by this Argentine musician, which saw the light of day in 1994. The album, although it did not repeat the massive success of its predecessor El amor después del amor, became the second best-selling in Páez's career and was the third most commercially successful album in Argentina during 1995, reaching 350,000 units.
The production of Circo Beat featured the participation of Phil Manzanera, known for his work in bands like Roxy Music and in a phase of Pink Floyd. This album had Mariposa tecknicolor and Tema de Piluso as its promotional singles, the latter being a tribute to the remembered comedian Alberto Olmedo. Fito Páez, originally from Rosario, is a central figure in Argentine music, recognized for his career as a composer, singer-songwriter, and pianist, and part of the so-called Trova rosarina. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades, including several Latin Grammy Awards.
