The story behind

The song Normal 1, with its 3 minutes and 1 second duration, is from the album Circo Beat, the eighth studio work by Argentine musician Fito Páez. This album, released in 1994, was produced by Phil Manzanera, known for his work with Roxy Music and in the post-Roger Waters era of Pink Floyd . Although Circo Beat did not reach the sales figures of its successful predecessor, El amor después del amor, it became the second best-selling album in Fito Páez 's career and the third in all of Argentina during 1995, selling over 350,000 units. Two of its singles, Mariposa tecknicolor and Tema de Piluso —the latter a tribute to the remembered comedian Alberto Olmedo—, received significant radio airplay.

Rodolfo Fito Páez , originally from Rosario, is a central figure in Argentine music, recognized for his work as a composer, singer, and pianist, and part of the so-called Trova rosarina. His career, spanning over three decades, includes 20 studio albums, as well as live works, compilations, and international collaborations. After an initial period of critical acclaim, his worldwide projection was consolidated in the early nineties with releases such as El amor después del amor (1992) and the aforementioned Circo Beat (1994), which together sold over a million copies. Throughout his career, Fito Páez has been awarded on multiple occasions, including five Latin Grammy Awards and the Premio Konex de Platino in 1995 as the best rock composer of the decade in Argentina.
