This work, produced by Phil Manzanera—known for his work with Roxy Music and in the post-Roger Waters era of Pink Floyd—marked a milestone in the Argentine musician's career. Although Circo Beat did not reach the sales figures of its successful predecessor, El amor después del amor, it became Páez's second best-selling album and was the third most popular album in Argentina during 1995, selling over 350,000 units.
Rodolfo Fito Páez, originally from Rosario, is a central figure in Argentine music. Since his beginnings in the Trova rosarina, he has developed an extensive career encompassing over 20 studio albums and collaborations with internationally renowned artists. The release of Circo Beat, along with El amor después del amor in 1992, consolidated his global projection in the early nineties, selling a combined total of over one million copies. Throughout his career, Páez has received multiple distinctions, including five Latin Grammy Awards and the Premio Konex de Platino in 1995 for best rock composer of the decade in Argentina.
