Jorge Drexler

Jorge Drexler, born in Montevideo in 1964, is an artist whose musical career was forged in an unconventional path, combining medical training with a deep vocation for composition. Before dedicating himself completely to music, he worked as an otolaryngologist, a profession also practiced by his parents. His first steps in music were taken in his hometown, where in 1991 he was recognized in the First Contest of the Unpublished National Song, organized by radio Alfa F.M. He shared this award with other emerging talents such as Gastón Rodríguez and Carlos Vidal, and the group Fuga. Upon
