The song Transporte, with a duration of 4 minutes and 14 seconds, is included in the album Eco by Jorge Drexler, released in 2004. This record work is characterized by fusing acoustic composition with electronic elements, paying special attention to lyrical details and string arrangements. Eco is considered a milestone in Drexler's career, boosting his recognition in Latin American, Spanish, and international markets. The main recording took place in Uruguay, at Sondor Studios, with production by Juan Campodónico and co-production by Carlos Casacuberta. Subsequently, after winning the Academy Award for Al otro lado del río, included in the soundtrack of The Motorcycle Diaries, the album was reissued as Eco², incorporating the Oscar-winning song and an additional DVD. The mixing of this piece was handled by Julio Berta, Pablo García, and Javi Varela, with Jorge Drexler joining the production alongside Juan Campodónico and Carlos Casacuberta.
Jorge Drexler, born in Montevideo in 1964, is a Uruguayan singer-songwriter whose career has been recognized, among other awards, with an Oscar for Best Original Song. Before dedicating himself fully to music, he studied medicine and specialized in otolaryngology. His training included diverse experiences, from music in a synagogue to youth activities. In 1991, he was awarded in an unpublished song contest in Montevideo, sharing recognition with other artists and releasing a cassette with Sondor. His first album, La luz que sabe robar, was released the following year by the label Ayuí / Tacuabé. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with figures such as Caetano Veloso at the Teatro Solís.
