The story behind
The song Salvapantallas, which lasts 4 minutes and 32 seconds, stands out for an interesting fusion of acoustic composition with electronic elements. It is a piece that invites reflection through its lyrical detail and string arrangements, and is considered a key point in the career of Jorge Drexler, helping to expand his recognition in Latin America and Spain.
This track was recorded mainly in Uruguay, at Sondor Studios. The production was handled by Juan Campodónico, with co-production by Carlos Casacuberta and also the participation of Jorge Drexler himself. The final mix involved the work of Julio Berta, Pablo García, and Javi Varela. This album, Eco, released in 2004, marked a stage where Drexler consolidated his style, combining the warmth of the guitar with more modern sound textures. After winning the Academy Award for "Al otro lado del río", the album was reissued under the name Eco², including the award-winning song and additional DVD material.
