Coldplay

When one immerses themselves in Coldplay's music, it's easy to perceive the energy they convey in their live performances, something that has defined them since their beginnings. They formed in London, and since 1997, the quartet composed of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, along with their manager Phil Harvey, has been building a distinctive sound. They initially explored names like Big Fat Noises and Starfish, but it was with the independent release of the EP Safety in 1998 that they began to chart their course. Upon signing with Parlophone in 1999, they took the big step with their first album, Parachutes, in the year 2000. This work gifted us the single "Yellow," which became their first major hit, and earned them accolades such as the Brit Award for British Album of the Year and a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album.

The path of Coldplay continued to consolidate with A Rush of Blood to the Head in 2002, an album that repeated the same honors and included "Clocks," which took home a Grammy for Record of the Year. Then came X&Y in 2005, closing what they considered a trilogy. Their fourth album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, released in 2008 and produced by Brian Eno, not only earned a Grammy for Best Rock Album but also demonstrated the band's global reach. Both X&Y and Viva la Vida reached the number one spot on the charts in over 30 countries, becoming the best-selling albums of their respective years worldwide. In fact, the song "Viva la Vida" was the first by a British artist to simultaneously top the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 21st century.
