The story behind
The song Daylight, with its five minutes and twenty-eight seconds duration, invites us to explore the duality between light and darkness, and how this relates to the profound understanding that one loves someone. It is a track found as the sixth piece within the album A Rush of Blood to the Head, a work that the band Coldplay recorded with Ken Nelson and Rik Simpson as recording engineers, while the mixing involved the participation of Danton Supple and Mark Phythian, in addition to the band itself and Ken Nelson.
This second album by Coldplay, released in 2002, marked a turning point, showing a greater use of electric guitar and piano compared to their debut album, Parachutes, from the year 2000. After achieving considerable popularity with Parachutes and the single Yellow, the band embarked on the creation of A Rush of Blood to the Head. The album had a massive reception, reaching number one in twelve countries and selling over two million copies in its first week worldwide. In the United Kingdom, it became one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century, obtaining a 10x Platinum certification from the BPI.
