Biography
At 15 years old, he went to a salesian institute in Modena, but he didn't do well. The teachers were strict and he didn't like the control. He ran away twice, seeking refuge in the house of an aunt in Bologna. In the end, his father sent him to another institute, the Tanari, where he studied Economics and Accounting. There he finished his studies.
Although he was rebellious, as seen in his songs, he didn't stay alone in music. In 1975 he founded the first free radio in Italy, Punto Radio, which was heard in several regions. Although he presented himself as a novice disc jockey, he always dreamed of being a singer-songwriter. His first single was "Jenny/Silvia", released by La Jeans. Later came albums like Ma che cosa vuoi che sia una canzone and Non siamo mica gli americani, where "Albachiara" stood out.
Over time, his style solidified. The critics focused more on his way of living than on his music. He drank a lot and defended drugs, something that made him stand out. In 1982 he presented Siamo solo noi, an album that became a hymn. The following year, in 1983, Vita spericolata came out, an album that included deep songs, among them Va bene, va bene così, which showed his more emotional side, a mix of disillusionment and love.
