The story behind
The story behind Ultimo domicilio conosciuto takes us to a particular moment in Vasco Rossi's career, specifically in the gestation of his sixth studio album, Bollicine. Although the song itself lasts 3 minutes and 31 seconds, its creation context is intertwined with that of other tracks that would mark a before and after. The music for what would become Vita spericolata, for example, was conceived by Tullio Ferro during the summer of 1982, with a concert in mind that was ultimately canceled due to bad weather in Cagliari. It was in that context, while Vasco was in his caravan, that the lyrics began to take shape, seeking an expression that reflected his free spirit.
Born in 1952 in Zocca, a town between Modena and Bologna in the Apennine region, Vasco Rossi, whose full name is Vasco, always showed an unconventional personality. His father, Giovanni Carlo, a truck driver, named him in honor of a prison mate in Germany. His mother, Novella, was a homemaker while his father traveled around Italy. From a young age, Vasco showed an inclination for creative expression, exploring experimental theater in 1972. Although he enrolled in Pedagogy at the University of Bologna, he soon realized that his true calling was in music, a path he had already glimpsed in 1965 by winning a contest with the song Come nelle fiabe. This difference between his studies and his passion led him to leave university to immerse himself in the world of "radio libere" (free radio), an experience that proved crucial to his artistic trajectory.
