The sound of the album moved a bit away from the style they had developed before, the Donosti Sound, to get closer to power pop. Simple melodies and relaxed lyrics were key. The band wanted to do something different, but without losing their essence.
They recorded the album in several studios, including the Studio du Manoir in France, and chose Nigel Walker as producer, recommended by Hombres G. The first single, Cuídate, was an immediate hit. They sold over a hundred thousand copies on the first day and received a platinum disc.
The album has twelve songs, but includes a hidden track called Tic tac, which is heard at the end of Desde el puerto. This song was part of their concerts and they included it as a gift. Some of the songs, like La playa or Los amantes del círculo polar, reflect influences from movies and cultural references.
All the tracks are catchy, something that is not easy. The band's second album surpassed the expectations created by the first, something that other groups did not achieve. In some countries, El viaje de Copperpot became the most well-known album.
