The story behind

The song *Desde el puerto / Tic tac* by La Oreja de Van Gogh, with its duration of 12:08, presents a facet of the group that moves away from the more characteristic "Donosti Sound" to explore *Power pop*. In this track, as in the rest of the album El viaje de Copperpot, the melodies become more direct and the lyrics adopt a lighter tone, elements that became pillars of this work. This second album by the group, released on September 11, 2000, marked a turning point, being considered by many as their masterpiece and the most successful in terms of certified sales in Spain. The album title, incidentally, has a curious connection to the 1985 film The Goonies, referencing a character named Chester Copperpot.

The group La Oreja de Van Gogh, originally from San Sebastián in the Basque Country, formally began their musical journey in 1996. The initial lineup included Pablo Benegas, Álvaro Fuentes, Xabi San Martín, Haritz Garde, and the voice of Amaia Montero. The band has demonstrated notable versatility throughout their career, experimenting with genres ranging from ranchera and bossa nova to dance and electronic music, although their primary identification is with *pop-rock*. Their popularity has extended beyond Spain, reaching Latin America and the United States, and even European countries like France and Italy, although promotion in the latter may have been affected by economic circumstances in 2008 and the subsequent departure of Amaia Montero in 2007. Since 2008, Leire Martínez has been the group's vocalist.
