The story behind

In "Dicen que dicen", La Oreja de Van Gogh dives into a somewhat surreal universe, but one that ultimately speaks of a love story that doesn't dare to take the leap. The lyrics suggest this indecision, as if the protagonists were "sleeping in their drawer," saving every kiss, every flower, and every song. It's interesting to note that here the group introduces drug references for the first time, through a curious image about a "peculiar vegetable" that makes you laugh at La Bruja Avería, a character from the memorable Spanish show *La Bola De Cristal*.

This track, which is part of *El Viaje de Copperpot*, also allows for nods to popular culture. On one hand, it reminds us of the Monty Python, with a phrase at the end that evokes their film *And Now for Something Completely Different*. On the other hand, the melody, which moves between Pop and Rock, contrasts with the album's next track, *Mariposa*, which has a more acoustic sound. Despite its catchy rhythm, "Dicen que dicen" is one of those songs that, curiously, was not released as a single. However, it has resonated at different times: it was part of the 2001 and 2003 tours, and in 2011, Amaia Montero included it in a medley during her solo career, reviving classics from her former band. More recently, in 2026, it was added to the *Tantas Cosas que Contar Tour*, celebrating the group's 30th anniversary and the return of Amaia Montero.
