Phil Collins is a guy who started playing drums in a rock band called Genesis. He got into the music world at 14, when he went to a theater school. There he started acting and modeling, and even got into a Beatles movie. What he didn't know was that this interest in music, which began with a drum toy, was going to become something much bigger.

He grew up in London, in a neighborhood called Hounslow. His dad was in insurance and his mom was in theater. At five years old, he was given a toy drum set, and from then on, no one took his interest in music away. They didn't teach him to read sheet music, so he invented his own system. That helped him play, but also led him to keep playing, nonstop.

Biography

With Genesis, he became the lead singer. He was part of the band from 1970 until 1996, when he left. During that time, he earned recognition as one of the most important of his era. Later, he left the band, but didn't move away from music. He kept playing, writing songs, and even acting. Some of his songs talk about love, world problems, drugs, and things that happened in his life.

In 2011, he retired due to health problems and not feeling comfortable with the industry. But in 2015, he came back with a new album and a tour. He did his last concert with Genesis in 2022, at the O2 Arena in London. Since then, he hasn't been seen on stage again. What remains is his music, which is still played, and his story, which is still being told.
