The music of Electric Light Orchestra, known as ELO, is distinguished by a particular fusion of rock and pop with classical arrangements, all wrapped in a futuristic aesthetic. This band, formed in Birmingham, England, in 1970, arose from the desire of Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood to create modern rock songs that incorporated electric instruments with classical influences. They were joined by drummer Bev Bevan.
