The story behind
It’s Over, according to DoReSol
The song *It's Over* by Electric Light Orchestra, with its 4:08 duration, is an example of how the band explored unique sonic textures. In this piece, the vocoder was prominently used, a resource that Electric Light Orchestra helped popularize in the pop realm. The recording was handled by engineer Mack, under the production of Jeff Lynne, who was the group's main creative force. This track is part of the album Out of the Blue, released in the United Kingdom on October 28, 1977, just four days after its appearance in the United States. Jeff Lynne composed the entirety of this double album in a span of three and a half weeks, driven by a surge of inspiration while he was in a rented chalet in the Swiss Alps.
The subsequent recording of the album spanned two months in Munich. Out of the Blue became one of the band's most commercially successful works, reaching sales of approximately 10 million copies worldwide by 2007.
