Luz

Djavan released Luz in August 1982, when he was on tour in the United States. He recorded it with CBS Records, now part of Sony Music, and there he met Ronnie Foster and Stevie Wonder, who appeared in Samurai. The album was released in Brazil and sold well, although it didn't get as much response in the United States.

About the album

Luz, according to DoReSol

The album has ten songs, from Pétala to Minha irmã. The music is soft, with a mix of Brazilian rhythms and a modern touch. Sam,urai is the most famous, because it features Stevie Wonder and sounds like something that can be listened to at any time.

In Brazil, the album sold over 500,000 copies before 1984. It wasn't an international success, but in his country it had a place. The production was well-crafted, with Djavan and Ronnie Foster as responsible. The sound is clean, with a piano base and a voice that moves between the close and the deep.
