Love at First Sting

Scorpions released Love at First Sting in 1984. It was an album that marked a turning point. The band recorded in Stockholm, but not everything went smoothly. There were tensions with the producer, Dieter Dierks, who wasn't happy with how the contract had been negotiated after Blackout. So, he wanted to change the bass and the drums. With the help of old colleagues from Rainbow, they recorded everything in a studio in Sweden. Then, they did it again in another place, with more modern technology.

About the album

Love at First Sting, according to DoReSol

The sound was similar to what they used to do, but cleaner, more accessible. They wanted to reach the United States. The songs that came out were well received. Rock You Like a Hurricane became a classic. Still Loving You and Big City Nights also had good acceptance. There were videos for each one, and one of them was re-released to promote a live concert.

The tour was long. It started in England and spread through several festivals. In Rio de Janeiro, in 1985, they performed for the first time in that country. Afterwards, they toured Europe. In 1986, it ended in Madrid. It was a journey that brought together a lot of people. Years later, in 2015, the album was remastered with new tracks and a live disc.
