Among the songs that resonated most strongly were Un’emergenza d’amore and In assenza di te, which found a good space on the radio in Italy, the United States, and Latin America. A particularity of this work is the inclusion of a piece written by Phil Collins, who was inspired after seeing Laura Pausini in an interview. By September 2000, La mia risposta had already sold over 3 million copies worldwide, although in Spain, for example, it reached number 8 in its second week, with around 200,000 units sold, showing a solid reception although not at the level of her previous works.

The album, originally released on October 15, 1998, contained thirteen tracks, including songs like Stanotte stai con me, Anna dimmi sì, and Looking for an Angel.
