The curious part is that, in Italy, his initial success was fleeting: the real takeoff came when one of his songs played in a German commercial, and suddenly, Europe and the entire world adopted it as their own.

In 2010, an honor like the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame closed a chapter, but he still prefers testimonials like that of an elderly man in Macerata who, after hearing him at the Sferisterio, told him: "Your execution of the aria from L'Arlesiana was perfect."
