The story behind

Le Tue Parole, according to DoReSol

Le Tue Parole is one of those songs that sound like Bocelli from the first chord: a clean melody, without adornments, where the tenor’s voice unfolds with a naturalness that feels more like a whisper than a technical exercise. It is not an opera piece nor a conventional pop song, but that point where the classical and the popular meet without forcing. The recording lasts exactly four minutes, enough time for the vocal line to flow without haste, as if every word — every *parole* — carried its own weight. The song appeared on Romanza, the album that in 1997 propelled him beyond specialized circles. It was not his first work, but the first to cross oceans: Romanza reached the United States and Canada with strength, not only due to promotion, but because Bocelli had already spent years building a bridge between languages.

The arrangements were handled by Joe Amoruso and Mauro Malavasi, while the mixing was in the hands of Mauro Malavasi and Ignazio Orlando. The main producer was Michele Torpedine, who, together with Stefano Grillini and Malavasi himself, gave it that air of careful yet unadorned production. By then, Bocelli had already won the Sanremo festival in 1994, and his name was beginning to resonate in Latin America and Europe, where Romanza ended up topping charts for years.
