The story behind
The song *Romanza* is a key piece in Andrea Bocelli's career, not only for its musical quality but for the impact it had worldwide. Although it is a compilation of previous tracks, this album, released internationally in 1997, became his most commercially successful work. It managed to top popularity charts throughout Europe and Latin America, selling over 20 million copies. This positions it as the best-selling album in the Italian language and also as one of the best-selling albums in predominantly non-English languages globally.
This album compiles songs from two of his previous works: Il mare calmo della sera, released in 1994, and Bocelli, from 1995. The production of Romanza featured the collaboration of Joe Amoruso and Mauro Malavasi on arrangements, while the mixing was handled by Mauro Malavasi and Ignazio Orlando. The overall production was supervised by Stefano Grillini, Mauro Malavasi, and Michele Torpedine. The album has a duration of 3:45.
