The story behind

Time to Say Goodbye (Con Te Partirò) - A Tribute To Henri Maske, according to DoReSol

The song Time to Say Goodbye (Con Te Partirò), which became globally famous, has its roots in the compilation album Romanza, released in 1997. Although it was not an album of new material but rather a compilation of his earlier works Il mare calmo della sera (1994) and Bocelli (1995), Romanza became the record that catapulted Andrea Bocelli to international stardom. This work not only topped the charts in much of Europe and Latin America but also became the best-selling Italian album in history and one of the most successful worldwide, surpassing 20 million copies.

Andrea Bocelli, born in 1958, is an Italian tenor who has moved between pop and classical music. His musical path was solidified when he won the "Newcomers" section at the 1994 Sanremo Festival. Since then, he has released an extensive discography that includes studio albums, compilations, and operas, selling over 75 million records worldwide. His ability to bring classical repertoire to international charts and popular culture is remarkable. In 1999, his nomination for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards marked a milestone, being the first time in decades that a classical artist was considered in that category. An example of his impact is The Prayer, his duet with Celine Dion, which received a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination.
