Metallica

This album, popularly known as The Black Album, marked a before and after for Metallica. Released in August 1991, it moved away from the thrash metal sound of their previous works to explore a denser and more polished proposal. The recording spanned eight months at the One on One studios in Los Angeles, a process where producer Bob Rock's ideas sometimes clashed with those of the band. Despite the tensions, the result was an album that defined a new sonic era for the group.

The album debuted at number one on the charts in ten countries and remained at the top of the Billboard 200 for four consecutive weeks, marking the first time Metallica achieved such a feat.

The impact of The Black Album was enormous. With over thirty million copies sold worldwide, it became one of the most successful albums of all time.
