This track, which shares its name with a 2013 film, had a particular journey regarding its live performances. After its release, Through the Never was heard live in a limited capacity, mainly during the album's promotional tour. However, there were notable moments when it reappeared: in 2009, after a 16-year absence, it was played in Tampa Bay, Florida, and in June 2012, it was performed at the Rock am Ring festival in Germany. In 2021, the band The Hu put their own spin on the song, including it on the album The Metallica Blacklist.
