The recording of the album spanned between 2020 and 2025. It was done in different places: in Juana Molina's studio in General Pacheco, in the studio Sonorámica in Córdoba, and in Hotel2Tango in Montreal, where she worked with Canadian musicians such as Leslie Feist, Andrew Barr and Howard Bilerman. To organize everything recorded, she hired Emilio Haro, who helped her choose and condense the hours of material. Haro encouraged her to re-record several songs several times and to think more about the lyrics, something she didn't usually do normally.
Doga was well received by critics. It stood out for its experimental sound and its ability to mix the digital with the organic. The music of Juana Molina has always been difficult to classify, and in this album that line is followed, but with a more exploratory look. The combination of synthesizers, voices, guitar, drums and bass creates an atmosphere that moves between the familiar and the unexpected.
