Siestas ahí

The story behind

Juana Molina recorded Siestas Ahí in her home studio in General Pacheco, towards the end of 2020 and beginning of 2025. The song is part of the album Doga, her eighth record, released by the independent label she herself founded in 2021. It has been over eight years since she released original material, and it is the first time she has collaborated with a producer since her first album, Rara, in 1996. The basis of the songs was laid in 2019, during a series of concerts called Improviset, where they improvised with Odín Schwartz, her regular keyboardist. They used analog synthesizers and sequencers, and recorded at least sixty hours of material. The song lasts four minutes and thirty-one seconds, and has over ten thousand plays on Last.fm.
