Desinhumano

The story behind

Juana Molina recorded Desinhumano in her home studio in General Pacheco, towards the end of 2020 and beginning of 2025. The song was born from a series of improvised concerts she did in 2019 with Odín Schwartz, where they recorded over sixty hours of sound with analog synthesizers. The piece has a slow rhythm, with a bass and drum foundation that moves like a heartbeat. Molina's voice is at the center, with a tone that seems to float above the sound, as if she's not entirely in the world. The lyrics speak of something that cannot be defined, of a feeling that has no name. The song lasts just over four minutes, but in that time it takes you to a place that isn't on any map.
