Apocalypshit

When Molotov released Apocalypshit in 1999, they already had a history, but this album marked an interesting point in their sound. Unlike their previous work, where Gustavo Santaolalla played an important role, for Apocalypshit they enlisted the production of Mario Caldato Jr., who had previously worked with the Beastie Boys. This is evident in the variety of styles that unfold throughout the album, moving between alternative metal and Spanish rock, with touches of heavy metal. The cover art itself gives us a clue to the atmosphere, featuring a ouija board that extends, inviting exploration of the unknown.

About the album

Apocalypshit, according to DoReSol

The album, with a duration of just over 51 minutes and 13 tracks, includes pieces like Karmara and Polkas palabras, which showcase that mix of genres. The title track, Apocalypshit, became a recognizable song, even appearing in the pilot of the series Breaking Bad. Another notable cut is El mundo, which also led to an EP that included a shorter version of the track, a remix, and another song called Representa. Upon its release, Apocalypshit positioned itself on important charts, reaching number 32 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums and also had a presence on Spain's music charts.
