For the production of Apocalypshit, Molotov collaborated with Mario Caldato Jr., who had previously worked with the Beastie Boys on their album Hello Nasty. The album had a good initial reception, reaching 32nd place on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and also appeared on music charts in Spain one week after its release.
