The story behind
El mundo, according to DoReSol
This piece by Molotov, titled El mundo, runs for seven minutes and nine seconds, inviting a sonic journey that departs from the conventional. The musical composition is credited to Gilberto Gutierrez and Ismael Tito Fuentes De Garay, who created the foundation upon which this track is built.
The album that houses El mundo, Apocalypshit, was released on September 14, 1999, under the label Universal Music Group. For this second studio work, the band Molotov enlisted the production of Mario Caldato Jr., who had previously worked with the Beastie Boys on their album Hello Nasty. While Gustavo Santaolalla had participated in the production of their previous record, on this occasion Mario Caldato Jr. took the reins, contributing his vision to a collection of songs that explore genres ranging from alternative metal and heavy metal to Spanish rock. Following its release, Apocalypshit reached number 32 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and also appeared on Spanish music charts a week after its debut. The overall mixing and production of the album were handled by Mario Caldato Jr.
