Guns N' Roses is a hard rock band that formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, California, from members of L.A. Guns and Hollywood Rose. Their sound is characterized by an intense fusion of punk, blues, and metal, which allowed them to stand out in an era dominated by glam rock. The band's classic lineup includes vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler.Their first major career boost came with the release of Appetite for Destruction in 1987. Though the album initially had no immediate impact, everything changed with the success of the "Welcome to the Jungle" video, which catapulted the album to fame.

With over 30 million copies sold, it became the best-selling debut in the United States, generating classics like "Paradise City" and "Sweet Child o' Mine". Their next work, G N' R Lies (1988), combined new acoustic material with earlier recordings, reaching second place on the Billboard 200 and selling around ten million copies.Over the years, the band went through significant lineup changes. In 1990, Matt Sorum replaced Adler, and Dizzy Reed joined as keyboardist. In 1991, Guns N' Roses released two albums simultaneously: Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, which debuted in first and second place on the Billboard 200, selling a combined 35 million copies.
