About the album

Un día normal, according to DoReSol

The impact of Un día normal was immediate and forceful. On its first day of sale in Colombia, it achieved gold certification, and soon accumulated platinum and multiplatinum records in countries like Colombia, the United States, Spain, and Mexico. The album demonstrated impressive longevity on the charts, remaining 92 weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard's Top Latin Albums and staying on the general chart for two years, marking a milestone at the time. Among the standout songs, we find A Dios le pido, recognized with a Latin Grammy Award in 2002 for Best Rock Song. Another key track is Es Por Tí, which, along with Mala Gente, garnered five Latin Grammy awards in 2003, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Es Por Tí, and Best Rock Song for Mala Gente.

One of the album's most notable collaborations is Fotografía, a duet with Canadian singer Nelly Furtado. This song addresses the distance and isolation that can arise in romantic relationships. It is interesting to note that Juanes wrote all the songs on the album, with the exception of La Noche, authored by Joe Arroyo. In 2022, the album was reissued to commemorate its twentieth anniversary, reaffirming its relevance.
