The album cover was inspired by a drawing of Leonardo Da Vinci, an image of a man screaming. They also used another one of his drawings, Jefe grotesco, as part of the LP sleeve. The songs mixed different styles: reggae, funk rock, punk rock, and even a touch of indio Xingu in the song that gives the album its name. They talked about themes such as the police, the church, the state and capitalism, with direct and sometimes aggressive language.
Some songs, like Bichos Escrotos, were recorded earlier, but could only be released now. Censorship got involved due to a verse that said "vão se fuder", but that didn't stop anyone. Many radios continued playing the song, sometimes even the original version. Of the 13 tracks, only two didn't pass through the radios: A Face do Destruidor and Dívidas.
