The story behind
Porrada, according to DoReSol
Titãs recorded Porrada at a time of tension and change. The album Cabeça Dinossauro, released in 1986, came as a response to a difficult year: their previous work, Televisão, had failed to meet expectations, and two of its members, Arnaldo Antunes and Tony Bellotto, had been jailed at the end of 1985. The band sought a rawer, more aggressive sound, moving away from the rock that had defined them up to that point. The result was an album that broke with the past, and Porrada is its most direct reflection: short, blunt, and uncompromising. The sessions took place at Nas Nuvens studio in Rio between March and April of that year.
Production was handled by Liminha, who at the time ran the WEA label and provided access to resources. The track lasts 2 minutes and 53 seconds, yet its energy is enough to leave a mark. The album became their first gold record, awarded in December 1986, and marked the beginning of an era where punk and raw rock took over.
