Stereophonics

Stereophonics è una band rock originaria del Galles, formatasi nel 1992 nel piccolo paese di Cwmaman, nella Valle di Cynon. Il loro sound si caratterizza per una miscela di rock alternativo e rock tradizionale britannico, con una voce distintiva e roca che dona un tocco unico alle loro canzoni. Fin dagli esordi, hanno saputo catturare l’essenza della vita quotidiana, raccontando storie della classe operaia gallese attraverso testi sinceri ed emotivi. La voce di Kelly Jones, insieme all’accompagnamento strumentale di Richard Jones al basso e Stuart Cable alla batteria, ha formato la base del loro stile, rimasto coerente nel corso degli anni.

Il loro primo grande successo arrivò con l’album Word Gets Around, pubblicato nel 1997, che raggiunse la sesta posizione nelle classifiche del Regno Unito grazie a singoli come “Local Boy in the Photograph” e “A Thousand Trees”. Questo album non solo segnò il loro debutto, ma stabilì anche un legame con il loro ambiente, riflettendo la vita nella loro comunità. Con il tempo, la band raggiunse la fama di massa con Performance and Cocktails nel 1999, che incluse successi come “The Bartender and the Thief” e “Just Looking”. Nel corso della loro carriera, hanno ottenuto numerosi singoli nella top ten, con “Dakota” che spicca come loro unico numero uno nel Regno Unito, pubblicato nel 2005.
