Fun facts

Los Prisioneros wrote «Cuéntame una historia original» for the album Corazones, released in 1990. The song lingers in the air, as if the world stopped for a second to listen. It's a voice that asks for a story, and the music listens too. The lyrics seem to speak of something that isn't fully said, as if there's more behind the word. The band left it on the album, but the song remains there, waiting for someone to follow.

The story behind

Los Prisioneros wrote Cuéntame una historia original for the Corazones, their fourth album, released in 1990. The song has a chorus that sounds like that of the Pet Shop Boys, but what catches the most attention is that it is very personal. Jorge González, the main composer, recorded it as if it were a confession. It talks about San Miguel, where they formed, and mentions another song by the band, Amiga mía. It doesn't get involved in politics or social issues, but rather focuses on what a person who believes to know a lot about life says, but doesn't understand that she is very naive. Jorge recorded a solo version in 1983, which he included in his compilation Jorge González Demos 2. The original version lasts 3:49, a bit longer than the demo.
