Reik

When you start listening to Reik's songs, you come across a sound that has evolved a lot but has always maintained a foundation of pop and romantic ballads. The group, formed in 2003 in Mexicali, Baja California, consists of Jesús Navarro on vocals, Julio Ramírez on guitar, and Bibi Marín on guitar. Their early works, such as the self-titled debut album released in 2005, focused on this style, with singles like «Yo quisiera» and «Noviembre sin ti» that quickly resonated. Producer Abelardo Vázquez was key in these early days, helping them record demos that opened doors in different cities across Mexico. By 2004, the lineup was completed with the arrival of Bibi Marín.

The path of Reik continued to solidify with productions like Secuencia, released in late 2006, which explored classic pop, pop rock, and alternative styles, with tracks like «Invierno» and «De qué sirve». Already in 2008, with Un día más, the band demonstrated their growth, achieving significant recognition by winning the Latin Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album by a Duo or Group in 2009. These early albums laid the groundwork for their identity, but the band did not stop there.

More about Reik

Biography

Starting in 2011 with Peligro, and later with Des/Amor in 2016, Reik began experimenting with more electronic sounds, marking a shift in their proposal. This search for new sonorities led them, from 2018 onward, to fully dive into reggaeton and Latin pop, collaborating with artists like Maluma, Nicky Jam, and Ozuna on singles that topped Billboard charts. This change in direction allowed them to connect with new audiences and stay relevant in the music scene. Throughout their career, they have been recognized with awards such as a Latin Billboard Music Award and several MTV Latinoamérica awards.
